Doodle buddy comes to my rescue during a boring wait in traffic court.

Breezee

Breezee is a talented musical freestyler who inspired me to get back into the studio after an all-consuming UX project. Small painting of a small guy with a big presence!

Practice: A Work in Progress

These 20-minute alla prima studies portray characters from my current tv addiction. I set a timer, use a limited palette of acrylics, and one brush... my trusty #4 filbert.

I’m happiest when I achieve a likeness with few revisions. I really enjoy working full speed with one brush, without concern for small details, but tradeoffs with certain features (blobby eyes, meh....) can be disappointing. Some are created even faster, in about 10 minutes with the leftover palette of a first piece.

Finally completed after two years, I love this painting - with all its flaws.
